Sulzberg Route
A fantastic mountain bike tour in the southern Waldviertel. I ride on the Scheibe along the Danube high up into the Ostrong Forest onto the Sulzberg.
Gerolding – Melk
My route takes me from the plateau to the Danube 🧜♂️🧜♀️ and then to Melk, the gateway to the Wachau. It gets adventurous, numerous stream crossings await.
Aggsbach Dorf – Gerolding
From the Aggsbach monastery, I climb up a strenuous Way of the Cross and reach the plateau of the Dunkelsteinerwald forest. A glorious day ☀️

Sternstein – Via Leone
I run through the snow-covered Sternwald forest up to the Sternstein and the Sternsteinwarte. A beautiful route in Advent.
Miesenwald
Winter hike along the Salzsteig, an old trade route, with a short detour to the Czech Republic's southernmost point.
Hofarnsdorf – Rossatz
A Roman path takes me into the autumnal Kupfertal and further to the Dunkelsteinerwald with a stop at the Seekopf viewing tower. Downhill through the Steinige Ries.
Mühldorf – Spitz
An autumn hike up the Jauerling. Fantastic views of the Wachau and descent via the Hinterhaus Ruin to Spitz an der Donau.
Muehlberg Course
A short and steep mountainbike tour in the Strudengau. Perfect for a scenic detour of the Danube Cylce Path
Predigtstuhl Trail
From Sarmingstein to the Predigstuhl and afterwards via Nöchling into the Gloxwald to Einsiedlerstein and the quarry.
Heart Stone Trail
A short, calm circuit trail in the Ysper valley to the lovely heart stone ❤️ and the scary skull stone 💀.
Kaiser Route
Rapid descents, strenuous climbs over rough granite, flat gravel sections along the Danube, travelling by mountain bike in the southern Waldviertel.
Mühldorf – Maria Laach
This time I climb the Jauerling. Phew, a strenuous but rewarding fifth stage of the World Heritage Trail, which offers cooling and plenty of panoramic views.
Maria Laach – Emmersdorf
I reach the Danube again near Emmersdorf. The third stage of the Jauerling Circuit offers plenty of forest and a few gentle hills.
Melk – Aggsbach Dorf
A marvellous ninth stage of the World Heritage Trail in the Dunkelsteinerwald. Several highlights included: Melk Abbey, Schönbühel Castle, Melk old town.
Emmersdorf – Melk
Hiking on the flat, eighth stage of the World Heritage Trail in the Wachau to Melk Abbey through the Danube wetlands and crossing the Danube at Melk hydroelectric power station.
Aggsbach Markt – Emmersdorf
The seventh stage of the World Heritage Trail leads me over hills and forests from Aggsbach Markt to Emmersdorf. Including a view of Melk Abbey.
Spitz – Aggsbach Markt
The apricot trees are in bloom! A wonderful hike through the gardens during the apricot blossom in the Wachau on the first stage of the Jauerling circuit.
Ysper – Dorfstetten: The first years
The water rushes down the Ysper gorge, afterwards it gets quiet and lonely in the Weinsberg forest to Dorfstetten. An exciting third section of the Lebensweg
